Vince Rapha Redgrave (ヴィンス・ラファ・レッドグレイブ, Vu~insu Rafa Reddogureibu) is the current head of the Redgrave household. He is the father of Gilbert Rapha Redgrave and Angelica Rapha Redgrave.
Appearance[]
Vince is a dignified man with swept-back grey hair. He has a tall and well-maintained body and a sharp glint in his eye.
Personality[]
Befitting his status as the head of the most powerful noble family in the kingdom, Vince is a proud nobleman with unquestionable authority. He is widely feared for his ruthlessness by both allies and rivals alike. Anyone, who offends or picks a fight with duke Redgrave, should expect merciless retributions to fall upon them. As Jenna stated, whoever the Duke wants their death, will be dead.
Under his ruthless, gruff exterior is the man who deeply loves his family. Although he is usually tough on his daughter due to his duty as a duke, Vince genuinely wishes for Angelica's well-being and happiness. When his beloved daughter's followers betrayed her, they impliedly suffered unimaginably horrific fates. Vince also proceeded to destroy their family as an additional punishment.
Story Overview[]
Volume 1[]
After Leon had won the duel against The Prince's Entourage, he had gone to Angelica's home to ask the family head, Vince Rapha Redgrave, to clear up the mess Leon created. Leon presented himself with the money that he had won from the duel to ask them to protect him and the Bartfort Household doesn't suffer any consequences after the duel. When Vince asked why Leon did all this, Leon replied that he couldn't simply watch the prince being deceived by that woman, so-called to protect the kingdom he had to do something. Vince seemed quite impressed with Leon's answer, and as he has dissolved the engagement between Angelica and Julius, he requested Leon to take her with him to relax in the countryside, so she is free from the political matters for the time being. After Leon left, Gilbert asked his father's thoughts about the matter and maybe if Leon could have solved this in another way. Vince replied that it was okay even though Angelica was the one who was being foolish to request a duel and Leon being the only one who volunteered himself was his daughter's savior. Vince then told Gilbert to look after their territory as he would be going to the palace to clear up the mess his daughter and Leon has caused.
Volume 2[]
Vince was mentioned by Marquis Frampton when he couldn't understand why the king, the queen and Vince would neglect such a Lost Item and didn't know how much of a danger Leon can be.
Volume 3[]
Vince was present in the meeting of the chief vassals and other involved officials when they were discussing whom to be appoint for the position of the commanding officer of the saint's bodyguards. After much discussion, it was decided that Leon would be appointed to that position. Opposition was shown to this decision, but since Leon and Marie were at odds with each other, the nobles were relieved that Leon won't be swayed by her. Then Marquis Frampton suggested it as a test, to see if Leon had qualifications of using that Lost Item. Vince objected to this as he saw that Frampton was planning to take that Lost Item from Leon. Marquis Frampton replied that they were just investigating to see if Leon had the capabilities of holding such a strong Lost Item and would not take it away. It would depend all on Leon's capabilities. Vince was forced to agree to this decision when Frampton said that as Leon was quite close with his daughter, was he thinking of monopolizing that Lost item for himself.
When Leon was falsely accused of colluding with the principality, Angelica went to Hertrude's room in the girls dormitory, to ask Hertrude what was she planning. After they two talked some time, Angelica was taken away on charges of assaulting Hertrude. Angelica immediately headed home after released and asked Vince to release Leon as he hasn't done anything wrong. Vince told Angelica to stop acting like a spoiled child and even if he could release Leon with his authority, Partner and Arroganz won't be returned to him.. Shocked hearing this, Angelica asked that was Leon worthless without his Lost Items and after all the things Leon had to go through for her sake. Vince replied that his promotion was mostly to them and even though he has courage, what was his worth without his Lost Items. Angelica, frustrated, said that Leon was her benefactor, but Vince replied that he had already repaid him and told Angelica to return to the academy. Angelica stormed out of the room after hearing this.
Gilbert entered the room soon after Angelica came out and asked Vince why did Angelica stormed out of the room like that. They discussed a bit about Angelica and then Gilbert gave Vince a report what he investigated. Gilbert said that those who made contact with Leon in the dungeon are disappointed that they couldn't operate Partner and a portion of them were making a direct appeal to the king to get Leon executed sooner as they thought that on killing him would make Partner choose a new master. On hearing this, Vince pondered over the things as both the Marquis' faction and the temple were going to be involved in a power struggle now. Gilbert then replied that Frampton has made a foolish action. On hearing this, Vince said that Angelica had quite an eye for people as if it wasn't for her. then the Redgrave Household wouldn't have developed such a relation with Leon. Vince then told Gilbert to return to his territory and prepare for war. Gilbert nodded and went out of the room while Vince headed to the royal palace
When Julius and his friends were trying to help Leon to escape, the king and the knights came to stop. After telling that they had come not to kill Leon but to ask for his help. Leon was then led to a conference room where Vince, Roland, the queen and Bernard were present, to discuss the current situation of the kingdom. When Leon told that he did not know if he could win, Vince declared that they had to use the Royal Ship, a lost item of the royal family, if Leon couldn't defeat the Principality. But Roland declared that without the qualified personnel they could not operate it.
After winning the war, Leon went to meet the king, with both Vince and Bernard present, to resolve the matter about Marie, Julius & his friends and Leon declared that he was tired being a noble. He declared that he wanted to return the viscount rank and just live his life leisurely as a quasi-baron or lower. He also said that he has already lost his airship and armor and as for helping those six, he said that its because of the troublesome relationship between them. Vince and the other two listened seriously to this and asked him to leave as they would take care of this matter.
Angelica was then summoned by Vince regarding about her kowtowing to Marie in the academy's public square and he was disappointed in her. Vince then said for whom she had done this has let go of his position, prestige and even his territory. He then asked how should he deal with her to which Angelica replied if she should take her life which Vince remarked was quite a resolve. Vince replied that as he couldn't keep a daughter like her in this house anymore so she should get ready to marry soon to which Angelica replied with a yes. Vince asked if she wasn't interested whom she is marrying and he said that she would marrying a stupid knight who had let go of his position, prestige and territory and wants to retire at a young age. Vince said that the house would take care of it and he also has heard about her friend's circumstances but she would be treated as a concubine. Vince laughed when Angie bowed her head and was thanking him and he said that it has still not been decided yet as he has to talk with that person. Just then Gilbert hurriedly entered the room, reporting that Leon after hearing about Angelica's and Olivia's kowtowing had gone to the prison to take Marie's head.
Leon had asked for demotion as his reward for winning the war. But Roland, being angry as Leon had stolen all the spotlight, decided not only to not demote him, but also allowed him advancement of rank from Viscount to Count and court rank of lower third during the award ceremony. Not even Vince, the other officials or Mylene knew about his promotion. Roland did it knowing that Leon wouldn't like it. And during the engagement ceremony between Leon with Angelica and Olivia, Vince was present there.

Julius is a former betrothed of Angelica. Even when the prince was still engaged to his daughter, Vince already had a low opinion of Julius. After the engagement ended officially, Vince openly called Julius unworthy of his daughter.
